Kunqu Opera Tour in Suzhou

On Sept. 1st, 2019, YSACCP organized staff and students from UWC Changshu China to enjoy Kunqu by professional Kunqu Opera performers at Suzhou Kunqu Opera Theatre Qinlan Hall.  One of the teachers who watched the show wrote: “The performances today were spellbinding.  The detail and splendor of the costume was matched beautifully by the sophistication of the gestures.  The introductions to the convention and translations of the narratives really helped to make the performances more accessible.  All was held together beautifully by the orchestra, tucked away modestly to the side of the stage.  Whilst the venue itself was an experience, with its carved and painted splendor.  This was my first experience of Kunqu opera and I keen for more.  Thank you YSACCP for a thoroughly memorable trip. “
