Key learning plans
To face the volatile and complex challenges facing in the world now, UWC Changshu China has prioritised the following four learning plans.
These are designed to improve our ability to adapt – both individually, and school-wide – and will help us to produce and follow systems and processes to:
Set direction through compassionate systems leadership
Develop the ‘Compassionate Leadership’ competency through professional and experiential learning programs
Engage in generative discourse
Develop coherent, transparent, and efficient systems
Understand ourselves to promote community wellbeing
Conduct an ongoing investigation of community life
Focus on how diverse factors affect wellbeing
Develop systems to analyse data
Regularly communicate findings to the whole school community
Innovate in education
Give time, space, support, and resources for research on improving teaching and learning at UWC Changshu China
Encourage active experimentation and innovative approaches supported by research and reflection
Create a system to evaluate, give feedback on, and implement sustainable curriculum initiatives
Design professional learning to improve quality of teaching and learning
Take positive action in our communities
Establish reciprocal relationships in communities that we are a part of (in Changshu, throughout China, and the UWC global community)
