An experienced IBDP Chemistry Teacher and Examiner, Nian joined UWC Changshu China in 2017. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences and a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Fudan University in China. She has a certification as a Chemistry teacher, awarded by The Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (international) with merit by The University of Nottingham. She is also certified in Wilderness Advanced First Aid from Wilderness Medical Associates (US).

Over the past years at UWC Changshu, China, Nian has been the Head of Residential Life, Head of House and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. She believes in the transformational power of education to change the world. Nian strives to provide the necessary care, guidance, and a residential environment where students thrive personally and academically by creating opportunities and safe environments that maximize the health and well-being of students.
