Jay Weinman

Originally from Minnesota, USA, Jay earned his teaching credential from Saint Cloud State University and brings over 20 years of experience in education. His international teaching journey has taken him across the United States and Asia, with roles in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Shenzhen, Bangkok, and now Changshu. He holds degrees and certifications in English, education, TV and radio broadcasting, and administration.

Throughout his career, Jay has specialized in film and English instruction, while also contributing significantly to school athletics. He has coached basketball and American football for many years and previously served as an Athletic Director in the U.S.

Jay and his partner Meadow, along with their five-year-old son Shen, are now in their third year at UWC Changshu China. As a family, they enjoy traveling and aim to add a new country to Shen’s passport each year. Jay is also an avid hiker, golfer, and fisherman, and continues to pursue these passions whenever possible.

At UWC CSC, Jay serves as Head of House—a role he finds deeply rewarding. He values the strong connections formed with students and staff and appreciates the warmth and support of the UWC community, which has embraced his family and enriched their experience in Changshu.
