Hung Ngoc Bui
Hung has 20 years of experience in the education and investment management industries. Before arriving at UWC Changshu as Director of University Counseling, Hung served as Vice President and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at Bennington College, Director of Admissions Strategy and Planning at Colby College, and Admissions Strategist at Bowdoin College. All three colleges – Bennington, Bowdoin, and Colby – are DavisUWC Scholars partner colleges.
He has in-depth admissions experience working with families in the United States and international countries, particularly China. He believes each facet of the admissions process is significant, from visiting the campus, interviewing, crafting the essays, and determining the college application list. He deeply enjoys working one-on-one with students and mentoring them through their application journey. “As I reviewed applications as an admissions officer, I often times wish I had the opportunity to have counseled the applicant in a particular area of their application. The details matter. At UWC Changshu, I can now provide personalized support to every student."
Before returning to admissions, Hung was a fixed-income portfolio manager and equity partner at Sterling Capital Management. Hung graduated from Colby College, majoring in Economics and English. He also holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Hung, his spouse (Amie), and daughter are excited and delighted to be joining the UWC Changshu community. Hung's family enjoys hiking, fishing, and traveling.
