UWC Changshu China is a fully residential community of 650 teachers and students living on our island campus on the Kuncheng Lake in Changshu. Students in their last three years of formal education are selected through the unique UWC National Committee System and come from diverse backgrounds and more than 100 countries and regions. The college is seeking to add to the existing faculty by appointing future focused educators, motivated to collaborate across disciplines to deliver a transformative education, allowing students the opportunity to learn experientially, in a residential context based on the UWC educational model. We are looking for committed and experienced educators who would like to equip the next generation of leaders with the knowledge, skills and aptitude they need to bring about positive peace and sustainable change in our increasingly complex world.
UWC Changshu China seeks applications from highly motivated and suitably qualified school leaders, teachers and administrative staff members, preferably with UWC and/or international school experience, actively committed to the UWC mission and the particular focus of UWC Changshu China, for the following roles:
Position of Teacher (Full-time)
Teacher: English Teacher (IBDP Group 1/2)
Teacher: History/Philosophy Teacher (IBDP Group 3)
Teacher: Design Technology Teacher (IBDP Group 4)
Teacher: Mathematics Teacher (IBDP Group 5)
Teacher: Theatre Teacher (IBDP Group 6)
Intern Teacher for all subjects (Minimum Bachelor Degree Graduate)
Demands of the Position:
A minimum of 2 years of related teaching experience
Demonstrated track record of working in a team
Demonstrated track record of being able to connect with students
Willingness or demonstrated track record in learning and practicing new pedagogy
To supervise Extended Essay
Willing and prepare to teach Theory of Knowledge or lead the subject session in Theory of Knowledge
Willing and prepare to support the curriculum of the department
Willing to attend relevant IB workshops and be trained to used the pedagogy that supports the School and department philosophy.
