Ge Qu

A senior IB educator, Qu Ge joined the United World College (UWC) in 2018. She has been dedicated to teaching Chinese literature, encouraging students to engage with the world more profoundly through their mother tongue and to understand themselves more gently from a global perspective. Within the Chinese Department, she focuses on curriculum innovation, enhancing students' critical thinking skills in their native language, and fostering their social and exploratory abilities.

Qu Ge graduated from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at East China Normal University and completed her IB teacher training at the University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining UWC, she served as the Head of the Chinese Department at an international school in Wuhan. She also worked as a supervisor for Chinese programs at an educational technology group and a teacher trainer, conducting Chinese teacher training sessions across China. Her commitment to education and teacher development has enabled her to establish authentic connections with knowledge and explore diverse approaches to mother tongue learning.

In her personal life, Qu Ge is passionate about tennis and water sports, holding certifications in stand-up paddleboarding and sailing. She has lived in Changshu with her daughter for seven years, savoring the local cuisine and lifestyle.
