“
I used to study in the Chinese educational system. Since I became a student at UWC, I have been greatly influenced by the diversity of culture at UWC. I have become more concerned with global issues and more passionate for community services. I am grateful for the opportunity to experience UWC education which has given me confidence and enabled me to become a better person. I hope that through Mini-UWC, I can promote the core values of UWC education to more students sharing my dream and coming from ordinary background.

“
I have learnt a lot from the various activities of Mini-UWC. I can hardly describe in words how much I enjoyed making friends with students from all over the world. My team launched a fantastic project, which I think is very eye opening and thought provoking. This is a truly unforgettable experience.

Why Mini-UWC?
The Most Authentic UWC Experience
Mini-UWC is a non-profit project that is initiated and organized by UWC students and alumni. Participants will experience life at UWC Changshu China. They will gain opportunities to communicate with students from all over the world and get a taste of intercultural diversity. Mini-UWC provides sufficient scholarships to ensure that students regardless of their cultural, social and economic backgrounds can take part in this program. Last summer, Mini-UWC recruited five students from Siyuan School from Hainan with scholarships. Participants also included students from Singapore, Germany, Croatia and Japan. A broad spectrum of participants and facilitators contribute to the most original UWC experience. On top of that, many of our facilitators are alumni and current students of UWC. Recently, Mini-UWC has got support from the UWC International Foundation "Go Make A Difference" that supports projects that put UWC values into actions and bring enduring benefits to the local community.

Learning From Each Other
From a room of four people, to a crew of 8 people, there are many chances for you to learn from each other. Although participants only have 7 days of shared residential experience, they are quick to make friends and to become good partners working on projects together. Facilitators will follow up on projects and offer help whenever needed. Right now, two programs from Mini-UWC 2016 are still on good track.
A Personal Transformation
Mini-UWC provides a transformative experience. It's an on-going program that aims to bring sustained effects to the participants. Mini-UWC welcomes participants to become future organizers, influence others in a positives way and live out UWC values in your daily life. Mini-UWC is just the start of an exciting journey of positive change and growth!
Thanks for Mini-UWC's creativity and dedication, my son had an amazing experience. It has made a significant impact on youngsters who are keen to challenge themselves!

Q: What is the daily arrangement?
A: Participants and facilitators will be divided into small groups called: crew – just like students at UWC. Each participant will spend time doing reflections with the crew at the end of everyday.
