Christoph Genz
HOD Arts & Music Teacher

Christoph Genz began his musical training as a member of the renowned Leipzig Thomanerchor. After studying music at King's College, Cambridge, where he was also a member of the King’s College Choir, he continued to study voice and music drama at the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater in Leipzig and with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf. He won first prizes at several International singing competitions.


Christoph has been engaged for concerts, recitals and opera productions throughout the world collaborating with many distinguished conductors performing in major concert halls and opera houses. His discography contains more than 50 CDs and DVDs including operas, concerts, songs and arias. After obtaining his PGCE degree he has been teaching both MYP and DP Music courses in Switzerland, Austria and Bangladesh for three years.

Jack Zhen Peng
HOD Chinese & Chinese Teacher

Jacky Zhen Peng graduated with a Master’s degree of Arts from East China Normal University. During 2006-2016, Jacky Peng taught different courses in Shanghai High School International Division and Wuxi No.1 High School International Division, including IBDP Chinese A Literature, Chinese A Language & Literature. He is highly experienced in teaching IBDP Chinese and high school Chinese. Jacky Peng attended several IBO workshops for Chinese subject teachers. He has also been accredited as an IB examiner in the subject of Chinese A Literature.

Noel Villajin
HOD Maths & Maths Teacher

Noel Villajin studied Civil Engineering in Manila, Philippines in 1987. He later went to Rome, Italy and Pamplona, Spain to do his Masters, and afterwards, his doctorate in Philosophy in the University of Navarre, Spain. He obtained “Summa Cum Laude” with his thesis dissertation on the “Philosophy of Science in the Works of Stanley Jaki” in 1994. He worked as Director of Community Relations in St. Louis University in Baguio, Northern Philippines while teaching a course on Philosophy. He also had a wonderful experience teaching in Nairobi, Kenya for a year as a volunteer where he climbed Mt. Kenya together with some students. He migrated to the US in 2000 where he taught various levels of  Math and Spanish in High School.


Noel firmly believes on a holistic education in forming individuals who are immersed in society. He upholds the close connection between theory and praxis. Knowledge has a practical dimension that has to be a positive contribution beneficial not only on an individual level but also transcending it to a universal sphere.

Suvash Dhakal
HOD of Individuals and Societies Department
Suvash is an economics teacher. He joined UWC Changshu China in 2016. He taught IBDP, CIE (A level) in Nepal. He worked as the Head of Social Science and Academic Counselor for IDPB program as well as teaching economics and mathematics. In over 10 years or working as an educator, he has mentored students, collaborated across faculties and supported senior management in improving academic delivery. He is an examiner for the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). Suvash also has experience working as a market research analyst in the USA. He received Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Bard College, New York, US and Master of Arts in Economics at Northeastern University, Boston, US. He loves playing and watching sports.

Naddine Espiegle
HOD Foreign Languages & Self-Taught
Nadine has experience teaching in international schools in Mauritius and Egypt. She has 21 years of experience teaching in the IB, and more specifically in French Language A Literature, French language A Language and Literature, French Language B and TOK classes. She also has experience as a Dean of Students for the IBDP programme and as a Head of Department. Nadine is presently a School Visitor for IB accreditation, Workshop Leader for French Language A and Language B, and an IB Examiner for French Language B. She has two grown up children who have been through the IB so she also knows the IB from a parent's point of view as well. Nadine studied French literary studies in the University of Reunion Island and did a postgraduate teaching certificate in Mauritius Institute of Education. She believes that IB and UWC really are striving to build a better world together. Her wish is to see the French language and culture vibrant and thriving on the UWC Changshu China campus.

Peter Kiboi Muya
Head of Science Department&Chemistry Teacher
Peter joined UWC Changshu China in 2017 as a chemistry teacher.  He has served in public and private schools since 1992 and was Head of middle school at the Zhangjiagang Singapore International School for four years. He has been head of science and sports in various schools for over 20 years. He won certificates of recognition in sports and teaching over the years. He is a senior examiner with IB Chemistry internal assessments and HL Paper 2. Peter is a graduate of Kenyatta University with a Bachelor of Science education in Physics and Chemistry. He also graduated with a degree in special education of the gifted and talented from Kenyatta University. He believes in inclusion and that every child has potential to learn under stimulating conditions. Peter is active in sports and participated in various activities including athletics, volleyball and football. He won medals in athletics at the national level in Kenya and won accolades as a coach in football and volleyball too. He enjoys reading, travelling and music in leisure time.

Ilona Wroblewska
Head of Special Education Needs
Ilona joined UWC in Changshu from Epsom College in Malaysia, where she worked as a College Head of Learning Support for three years. She has over 15 years of experience in both Polish and British schools, teaching and supporting students with a range of special needs and learning abilities. She wants all children to be successful learners and works to create a classroom atmosphere that is stimulating, encouraging, and adaptive to the varied needs of students. Ilona has a Master’s Degree in Education from Silesia University in Poland. Her interests include traveling and outdoor pursuits, particularly skiing and scuba diving. She believes in the importance of understanding different cultures, beliefs and approaches to leading a positive lifestyle.

Angela Frances Dundas
Head of English Department&English Teacher
Angela is an IBDP Language and Literature/Literature teacher. She has experience of several international middle years programmes. Angela has taught and worked in middle management in international schools in Spain, Sudan and China and is committed to the values of the IBDP and UWCs. Angela has a B.A. Hons English from The University of Ulster and studied education with The University of Nottingham. She is British, from Northern Ireland, and has lived in the Basque region of Spain almost continuously since leaving university. Both of her children are IB graduates, so Angela is well placed to appreciate the challenges students face both as a parent and as a teacher. Angela believes that inclusiveness is the key to success in all schools, as is a respect and understanding of those cultural differences and personal perspectives which make working with young people in a multi-cultural environment a privilege.

David Michael Hart
Head of Design Technology
United Kingdom

After completion of a Master’s degree in Industrial Design, David worked as a Design Engineer and Interactive Science Exhibit Designer for notable companies including the National Museum of Science and Industry(London). During my time as a design Engineer, I contributed to design projects that were worldwide in their client list with familiar organizations such as “The Hong Kong Science Centre”, “Singapore Science Centre” and many others.

He became a teacher after completion of PGCE studies and worked at state maintained Secondary Schools in London where he developed teaching practice in delivering both GCSE and A level Design Technology and Vocational Studies.

In 2011 he left the UK to work at United World College Masstricht as a Design Technology teacher where he introduced the IBDP course of Design Technology to the school and helped set up the now established design classrooms that are used for both DP and MYP students.

David graduated from Newport Art and Design College in Wales, UK where he got his BA ( Hons ) in 3D-Design.  He is also an alumni of Central Saint Marins College of Art and Design, London where he studied a Master Degree in Industrial Design. He received his Post Graduate Teaching Certificate (PGCE) from Cardiff University, Wales.

He is interested in making and playing guitars and writing and recording music.  He enjoys all things musical, and will be very excited to indulge in the local music and rich culture that China has to offer.  He is also a keen cyclist.
