Notice on 31st Janurary
Issue date:2020-01-31As the situation surrounding the novel coronavirus outbreak continues to evolve and in accordance with the Notice issued on 26th Jan. by Suzhou Disease Control Headquarters for Pneumonia Caused by Novel Coronavirus, UWC Changshu China has decided to be closed for students for an initial period of two weeks after the end of the Chinese New Year. The earliest possible day of reopening will be Monday, 17th February 2020.
In the meantime, students have been asked to remain in, or return to, the care of their families and UWC Changshu China is supporting international students in this endeavor on an as-needed basis. We wish to thank all students, parents and UWC national committees for their understanding and invaluable support.
Further notice on the exact date of reopening of the School and how teaching and learning will be conducted during the period will be communicated once confirmed.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority and we are in regular contact with them. We call on all community members to follow the precautionary measures to keep safe and support each other in this time of difficulty.
UWC Changshu China continues to monitor the situation closely, particularly the information being disseminated by the World Health Organization (WHO), China National Health Commission,relevant authorities of the People’s Government of Suzhou and Changshu to keep updated on what UWC Changshu China should do to keep our campus safe.
